It's a good idea for you to list the canidates for re-election. The 2 seats that are up in 2010 are Tom Annunziata and Alfredo Siaba. Would you vote for them, or new canidates? jim -- i feel that t. annunziata and a. siaba are the two best bod members la has -- they look out for the welfare of the community and members interests --
other members should still run for the bod -- let the membership decide who gets on the bod-- qualified members may be out there and will bring new eyes and ears to this board that they badly need --- running for the bod and not making it is not a shame or black mark -- it is a sign of a engaged member who wants to get the community onto new footing and heading in a new direction -- also it gives the candidate some real experience that will come in handy at latter elections when some of the mediocre and just plane bad bod members are up for reelection ( yes there are some of them and we'll get to them in due course )
as far as moving the election to a more assessable time for the membership -- that won't happen -- this current system helps the current sitting bod members retain their seats by stifling any chance of discussion among members in season about the bod election -- it also makes it next to impossible to electioneer for a seat since no one is at la till later in the summer ---- they don't want any more people to participated than currently do -- this favors them -- after all you get tired of kissing ass for the job and the more people that participate the more ass kissing required -- they can only do so much
-- so the best way to get around this is to get more people to run for bod seats and this will dilute the totals for the fossils that currently sit on the bod and hopefully new members will prevail and win bod seats--- chipper

Chipper--Put this comment where you think it would get the most response.
Another year has passed and we are starting the election process for this year.Nothing has changed, and I was told that there was going to be changes made for this year. Ed Rohs tried to put in a recommendation, and could not even get it second to put it to a vote. Are we going to have those same mistakes this year? ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SIGNED BY THE APPLICANT.
